MAKE RESERVATIONS NOW FOR THE GOLDEN QUILL AWARDS

Reserve a spot now for The Press Club of Western Pennsylvania’s 45th annual Golden Quill Awards presentation, Thursday, May 14, at the Hilton Pittsburgh, Downtown.

Winners of the Golden Quills competition, recognizing professional excellence in written, photographic, illustration and broadcast journalism in Western Pennsylvania, will be announced at the event. See the list of finalists* here.

Also that evening, Fred I. Young, retired senior vice president of Hearst-Argyle Television Inc., will receive the President’s Award, honoring lifetime achievement in journalism.

Brittany Hoke of Mt. Pleasant, a junior at Point Park University, will receive the 2009 Press Club of Western Pennsylvania’s Scholarship for aspiring journalists.

The Golden Quill Awards evening will start at 6 p.m., with a cash bar and reception. Dinner and the awards ceremony will follow at 7 p.m.
