My grandfather, Drayden VanBuren Marshall, was 100 years old December 19, 2000. Over the years he's written many poems. They were written on notepads, notebook paper, and backs of envelopes. My mother typed them up and gave them to several family members but I thought it'd be good to preserve them on the internet. You will also find here a history of his life. Papaw sat down one day and wrote of the things that he recalled. You will find them here just as he wrote it. Of course, for most of the people who come here many of the place names and people names will be meaningless. But I think you will enjoy the read nonetheless.
CODA: God called my grandfather home on April 11, 2001 after 100 years, 3 months, 23 days.
"I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me will live, even though they die; and those who live and believe in me will never die." - John 10:25 (TEV)
