Welcome to my website. I started this thing a couple of years ago but never followed up on it until now. This weekend I went through all the pages and cleaned up the underlying code so that every page now validates as strict HTML 4.01. I know that this won't mean anything to a lot of you, and your web browser won't display anything any differently, but it gives me some satisfaction to know it's so. August 18, 2008 - Okay, not so happy. When I got to work this morning I took a look at the sight in Internet Explorer because I don't have it at home. I was very upset to see that it was all messed up. The titles of each page weren't large as they should have been; my grandfather's photograph, on his main page, wasn't there; the links to the three pages of his writings didn't have the black background they should have; and his poems, which should have been alternating right and left down the page, were on top of each other. Apparently, having correct, valid, strict HTML 4.01 and valid CSS doesn't mean much to Internet Explorer. I'm going to have to find out what's going on and how to fix it.

August 20, 2008 - I used someone else's computer today with Internet Explorer 7 and it shows all the things I've been complaining of as they should be. Now, everybody, upgrade!

April 3, 2009 - Changed the color scheme.
