How to Create Your Own Puzzles

It's fun to work your own creations. Try it.

Use menu option "Special/Edit" to use the following four options.

1.  Edit Puzzle Collections.
2.  New puzzle size.
3.  Shift picture.
4.  Save picture.

Use the following steps to create a puzzle collection.

A.  Use the first option to create a new puzzle collection with a name of your choice.

B.  Use the second option to create a blank puzzle with the size of your choice.

C.  Draw a picture.  If necessary use the Shift Picture option to reposition your picture and New puzzle size to readjust the size.

D.  Save the puzzle in your new puzzle collection by using the Save picture option.

E.  Clear the board and choose Solve/Solve Puzzle from the menu.
This will tell you if your puzzle has more than one solution or if it has a unique solution.  If it does have a unique solution it will indicate if trial and error guessing is required to solve it.  If it has more than one solution, you need to alter the picture, Save and Solve again. Adding more filled cells will increase the chances of having just one solution.  Inverting the picture is sometime effective too.

F. Once you have a picture with a unique solution, enjoy solving it yourself.  If you get 5-10 puzzles that you have created with unique solutions, attach the file (After you hotsync, your puzzle collection will be in your backup folder.  For example, mine is in C:\Palm\WolcotK\Backup) to an email and send it to me.  I will put it on the shared collection page so that everyone can enjoy your creations.
