| I'd always wanted a horse. I guess my parents thought I'd outgrow that fancy, but I never did and probably never will! So shortly after getting married in 1969, my husband and I moved to rural Arcola. It wasn't long before we bought my first horse Goldie. She was a grade mare and cost a whopping $150! I can still remember when I achieved my balance and could finally let go of the horn cantering down the field. I bred her to an Arabian stud and raised 2 foals. It was only the beginning of my equine partnership. |
