Trailer Tip: Shavings that "Roam"....

I pull a GN slant horse trailer with a rear tack area. Even though the partition is quite low to the floor, shavings tend to drift under it from the horse part and into the tack area. The shavings aren't such a nuicance, but some horses tend to regard the trailer as their porta potty. Urine flows freely under the partition, and I don't particularly like when my buckets are dripping with urine.

I've tried stuffing old beach towels under the wall to keep the shavings in place, but the towels don't stay in place well plus the fact that they get very soiled and nasty. Then a very simple solution came along--a pool noodle! Noodles stay in place, are easy to install, and also cheap! Here's how you do it.....

Cut down the noodle to fit the length of the wall. Use the extra piece to "size" how thick you should trim it to fit snugly under the partition.

Carefully cut the noodle lengthwise, making sure that it will fit snugly under the wall.

My noodle needed to be cut right down the middle, so now I have a spare. All for the price of $1 thanks to Dollar General.

The noodle easily fits snugly under the partition and forms a shield against shavings and urine.
