Gardening
After my trail partner Ace had to be euthanized, I found myself with too much time on my hands. Being a school teacher provided me with ample opportunity for riding during the summer. Now, with Ace gone, I had too much spare time. Even though the kids were very involved with summer rec (meaning we country parents put on lots of miles between town and home), a person can do just so much reading, working in a classroom, biking, etc. So, with shovel in hand, I decided to dig. The first little flower garden suddenly expanded, and a small pond was dug. I've enjoyed the perrenials over the years; however, it wasn't long before a new trail horse came upon the scene. So, the flowers now tend to share space with weeds, but riding has resumed top priority on my hobby list.
If you need a time-filler, just DIG! And it helps you sleep at night; you're so tired, you lie down and ZZZZZZ!
I don't know who likes the purple coneflowers better--me or the butterflies.
