Line-Dancing
About a decade ago, line-dancing became real popular around Arcola. One of the avid, nimble-footed dancers, Imogene, organized a beginners' group and taught them in her garage. Randy and I joined the group and enjoyed learning the numerous routines. However, for some reason, after a few years, the "garage group" faded away into the sunset. Then last fall, Imogene (who, by the way, never ceased her dancing!) suggested resurrecting the Sunday evening dance lessons. Sooooo, now Imogene leads the way as Alice, Dorothy, Connie, Cinda, and I dance away to "Boot-Scootin'-Boogie" and the likes. Not only is the dancing fun, but we share a lot of laughs, too. All in all, I figure that between the laughs and the exercise, it's heart-healthy!!! Also, twice a week the group travels around to various nursing homes to entertain the residents. That's been fun, too.
