On the 15th of October, we moved to our hill in Alto, Texas. It's still very much under construction, but here are some pictures of the way it looks around the middle of November.

Here is our new $1,200 culvert. Can you imagine that? The big trees in the center are pecans. I have no clue what variety they are, but one is like nothing I've ever seen before.

The front part of the driveway is greenrock. This is the lowest part of the property, and we wanted to make sure that it wasn't a mud hole all winter. I could only afford 3 truck loads for now.

Most of the woods near the bottom of the hill are oaks, elms, sweetgums and Chinese tallows. The Tallows are an invasive species, and even though they are pretty in the fall, we will be getting rid of most of them, along with the elms.

 This is me walking farther up the hill. You see that the blackland is turning red and there are huge pines instead of hardwoods.
